We're extremely excited to welcome Tav Falco's Panther Burns to the Blues Kitchen Brixton this August.
Tav Falco, for many years breathed new life into the art scene of America’s Deep South. His band, The Unapproachable Panther Burns, then quickly became a favourite in New York City where the genre ‘No Wave’ began to emerge at the time. Alongside a string of other bands including The Cramps, The Panther Burns fused traditional blues and country music with the carefree attitude and expressionist theatricality of rock music. As a result, Rough Trade Records enthused over the band and released Panther Burns’ debut album Behind The Magnolia Curtain in 1981.
After twelve LP and EP releases and countless tours, Falco expatriated to Europe, where he found his most embracing and dedicated audiences.
The New York Times has described Falco as “a singer, guitarist and researcher of musical arcane who hasn’t let his increasingly technical expertise and idiomatic mastery compromise the clarity of his vision.”
