Taking Music Backwards Into Tomorrow

Dirty Water endeavours to make its events available to all. All we care about is that you dig Rock’n’Roll;  everything else is just detail to us, but it ain’t just detail to everyone, is it?

Our home venue is Nambucc on Holloway Road and we’ve added some information about our gigs there below. We will try to add similar information about the alternative venues we occasionally use, but at any point please feel free to email label@dirtywaterclub.com or phone Paul on 07958 907 657 if you have any questions. Any feedback on this information would be gratefully accepted.

Nambucca

Venue: Nambucca, 596 Holloway Road, London N7 6LB. 020 7561 0815
www.nambucca.co.uk
Access: It is a ground floor venue with clear wheelchair access through the main bar with only a 5-inch step impediment. Staff are available and willing to help assist anyone in a wheelchair to gain access to venue.
Capacity: 300. Well air-conditioned.

Personal Assistants: Personal assistants are welcomed.
Viewing platforms: One or two wheelchairs could be accommodated stage right with prior notice.
Toilets: There are no disabled toilets available unfortunately.

Shacklewell Arms

Venue: Shacklewell Arms, 71 Shacklewell Lane, Dalston, London, E8 2EB (http://www.shacklewellarms.com/)
Access: It is a ground floor venue with clear wheelchair access through the main bar with only a 3-inch step impediment. I trip over it constantly, however.
Capacity: 220 including the talent and the staff. It often gets very crowded, and warm.
Parking/Travel: Not a lot of options. After 7 p.m. local resident parking spaces are free for all to use approximately 100 yards from the venue. All our bands use them and none have had a problem. There is an easy drop off point next to the venue.
Personal Assistants: Personal assistants are offered a place on the house guest list. As with all patrons, stamps will provided at the door. No evidence is required as the honour system has never failed us.
Viewing platforms: Not a lot of options. Stage right tends to be less frantic than right in front and many people choose that option. It has an excellent view of the entire stage. The stage itself is less than 3 feet high and there is no raised area from which to view the bands.
Toilets: There are no disabled toilets available. We will update further on this.
Hearing Loop & BSL: No facility available.
Assistance dogs: No regular facility available for their toileting/drinking but will be provided upon request.
Strobe lighting: Not normally used, but suggest questions be put to us in advance to confirm for a given night.
Medical services: We will update further on this.

There are two steps like this to get into the music room.  There is also a load-in door with no steps.
