Schwindy's Indie Music Spotlight: The Dustaphonics "Big Smoke London Town"
My introduction to The Dustaphonics came a couple years ago, and I'll admit that I was instantly smitten. This is a band that combines 60s garage and soul in equal amounts for a sound that is irresistible. So when I received a new album from this band, I was excited to hear it.
The band does not disappoint. The second track on the album is "When You Gonna Learn?". This song combines rockabilly guitar, soulful vocals, and a rhythm that will get you shaking your backside. Oh, and did I mention that it's an incredibly catchy melody? If this song doesn't hook you, it's hard to imagine what will.
If you really want to shake your backside, check out the song "Rockin' Boogaloo". This song has a funky bass line to go with some outstanding vocals, and a guitar sound that will transport you back to the 60s. You know all those songs from the 60s that included instructions on how to do the steps of the dance that was the namesake of the song? This song is like that. Only you don't have to know any particular steps to dance to this one. You just need to shake what your mama gave you. Frankly, that's a pretty good motto when listening to this band.
The Dustaphonics is the kind of band that you'll want to recommend to all your friends. With a combination of garage rock and soul, you'll find very little not to love about this band. If you're in the mood to shake it and groove to some great music, add this album to your collection.
